Negotiations between Artyom Daushev, Assistant to the Rosselkhoznadzor Head, and Ahmad Mukhtar Muhseni, Animal Health Director, General Directorate of Livestock and Animal Health, Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan were held on May 20, 2021. The parties discussed of the Russian poultry producers’ access to Afghanistan market.

The Rosselkhoznadzor held negotiations with the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GACC ) via videoconference on May 20. The meeting was also attended by the representatives of the Russian Embassy in China, the Trade Mission of the Russian Federation in China, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and the FGBI "National Center for Aquatic and Aquaculture Product Safety" (FGBI "NCBRP").

The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance and the Ministry of Agriculture, Marine Fisheries, Rural Development, Land Reclamation and Forestry of the Kingdom of Morocco have agreed on a veterinary certificate for import of cats and dogs from the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Morocco. The document is required for commercial shipment of these animals for participation in dog shows, as well as for delivery to breeders. These animals can be imported into the territory of Morocco if accompanied by an agreed certificate provided that all requirements specified therein are met.

The Rosselkhoznadzor took part in the meeting of the working group on regulatory impact assessment of Eurasian Economic Commission draft decisions. The parties discussed the progress of finalizing the Draft, which assumes the consolidation of norms on the use of risk-based approach in the implementation of veterinary control (surveillance) in the EAEU legislation.

Due to worsening of the epidemic situation with regard to highly pathogenic avian influenza in some countries, the Rosselkhoznadzor is taking measures to prevent the avian influenza entry into Russia. To ensure biosafety in the country, the Service is imposing restrictions on import of poultry and poultry products from the territories that are not affected by the disease.

Based on the analysis of materials provided by the veterinary services of Germany and Slovakia, the Rosselkhoznadzor lifted earlier imposed restrictions and resumed import certification for live poultry and poultry products to Russia from a number of AI-free areas of the abovementioned countries.
