According to the World Organization for Animal Health: “SARS-CoV-2 can spread from humans to susceptible animal species. In some circumstances, such as intensive mink farming, SARS-CoV-2 can circulate in animals and spill over back to humans. However, animals are not playing a significant role in Covid-19 pandemic spread, which is mostly sustained through human-to-human transmission”.

The first batch of the Carnivac-Cov vaccine for prevention of new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in animals in the amount of 17 thousand doses has been produced in the Rosselkhoznadzor subordinate Federal Center for Animal Health. The vaccine batch has already been pre-ordered and will be sent as soon as possible to a number of Russian cities and regions, including Moscow, the Moscow Oblast, the Republic of Crimea, St. Petersburg, Vladimir, Kirov, Izhevsk, Irkutsk, Magnitogorsk, Novosibirsk, Ryazan, Chelyabinsk, Tver, Tolyatti.
