With a view of cooperation in the field of
transboundary animal disease control and activity planning the third meeting on
the FAO Project “Cross Border Trade and TADs Risk Reduction between China, Mongolia
(TCP/RAS/3306 B04)” will be held in January 22-25, 2013.
The host is the Rosselkhoznadzor’s
subordinate FGBI “ARRIAH” (Vladimir) under support of the FAO Emergency Centre
for Transboundary Animal Diseases (China),
Dr. Batsukh Zayad, PhD, Chief Veterinary Officer of Mongolia
and Dr. Zhang Zhongqiu, PhD, General Director of the Bureau of Veterinary
Service of the Ministry of Agriculture, China.
The goal of the meeting is to support regional
approach to transboundary animal disease control and to establish a data
exchange forum aimed at disease surveillance and control harmonization between
the three countries (Russia,
Mongolia and China).
Objectives of the meeting: sharing
experience in transboundary disease control including FMD, highly pathogenic avian
influenza and African swine fever; progress review according to work schedule;
discussion of the memorandum of understanding and development of the
explanatory note for the purpose of further activities and financing.
The meeting will be devoted to the discussion of
FMD and other transboundary animal diseases with the involvement of the
governments of China, Mongolia and Russia
and experts from FAO ECTAD, China.
