On September, 30 Assistant to the Head of Rosselkhoznadzor Artem Daushev took part in the meeting of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of Malaysia (MAFI). The meeting, held virtually, was devoted to the access of Russian livestock products to the Malaysian market.
To date, the Malaysian side has not yet approved any Russian establishments for the supply of animal products.
The completed questionnaires, as well as the relevant information regarding additional MAFI questions had been previously forwarded to the competent authority of Malaysia.
The Rosselkhoznadzor is expecting comments from the foreign colleagues regarding the access of Russian establishments producing poultry products, beef, dairy products, small ruminant meat and pork.
"It is the first time when negotiations on cooperation between the two countries regarding mutual access of livestock products markets are held at such a high level. It is important to establish a stable and constructive dialogue that would help accelerate the procedure for the admission of goods to consumers in Russia and Malaysia," said Artem Daushev, the Assistant to the Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor.
The foreign colleagues supported the position of the Russian side and are ready to hold technical consultations on this issue. The Malaysian Ministry of Health responsible for conducting laboratory testing of imported animal products is also expected to participate in the negotiations.
