Rosselkhoznadzor and State Inspection Committee in Agro-Industrial Complex of Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Discussed Measures to Prevent Supply of Sanctioned Products to Russia

The video conference was held between the Rosselkhoznadzor and the State Inspection Committee in the Agro-Industrial Complex of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan on March 26.

The Rosselkhoznadzor expressed its concern about the systematic incompliances in the supply of fruit and vegetable products from the Republic of Kazakhstan to Russia, including attempts to import sanctioned goods. Earlier, the Russian Authority was forced to apply to the State Inspection Committee in the Agro-Industrial Complex of Kazakhstan with a request to suspend the shipment of food potatoes intended for Russian importers. The reason for this was the identification of three vehicles in the Orenburg Oblast, carrying more than 60 tons of German potatoes under the guise of Kazakh products.

The Rosselkhoznadzor stressed that attempts to import sanctioned goods to Russia from Kazakhstan are prevented on an ongoing basis. Thus, on March 17, the Rosselkhoznadzor inspectors together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia detained a car in which Polish apples were transported without accompanying documents. On March 21, a vehicle carrying macadamia nuts of Australian origin coming from Kazakhstan was stopped.

The Kazakh party said that it is conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances of certification of German potatoes sanctioned for Russia, and also intends to organize checks on other cases of illegal deliveries. In addition, strict measures will be taken against violators. The Kazakh authority will inform the Rosselkhoznadzor about the results of this work in the near future.

In conclusion, the parties agreed to work out a unified approach to sending notifications of violations detected during bilateral trade, as well as to measures taken in relation to regulated goods.
