A video conference meeting was held on November 20 between Deputy Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Konstantin Savenkov and Director General of the Chief Veterinary Department of Mongolia Dorjnyam Tumendemberel. The meeting was devoted to supplies of agricultural products via inspection points at the Russian-Mongolian border.
Due to difficult COVID-2019 situation, the Mongolian government suspended work of the border posts at the Mongolian state borders. During the negotiations, Dorjnyam Tumendemberel confirmed that from November 16 to December 1, road transportation of the regulated products was suspended from Russia to Mongolia and from Mongolia to Russia. Consignments can be transported only by railway.
Therefore, until further notice the Rosselkhoznadzor suspended the following activities:
- Certification of regulated products intended for export to Mongolia, transported by road;
- Transit of regulated products through the territory of Russia by road;
- Export of regulated products from the Russian Federation to Mongolia by road.
The negotiators agreed to maintain close contacts in the near future in order to discuss the current situation and the time when suspension of road transportation via Russian-Mongolian can be lifted.
