Deputy Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Konstantin Savenkov held a videoconference with the representatives of the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China (GACC) on July 2.
The participants of the meeting discussed bilateral cooperation in the framework of ensuring safety of Russian animal products exported to China.
Konstantin Savenkov assured that before shipping goods abroad, including that to the People’s Republic of China, the Russian side thoroughly checks their compliance with all import requirements.
The Chinese side noted the safety of Russian products exported to the PRC, and highly assessed the surveillance system implemented by the Rosselkhoznadzor with regard to regulated goods and aimed at ensuring that the products meet the requirements of the PRC. At the same time, the foreign colleagues also drew attention to the need for establishments to comply with the temporary recommendations of the FAO and WHO aimed at the smooth operation of establishments in such a difficult epidemiological situation.
The General Administration of Customs of China also notified the Rosselkhoznadzor that, for its part, it is currently looking for the possibility of conducting video inspections of foreign establishments exporting animal products, including fish products. The technical issues of conducting such inspections will be discussed by the parties additionally.
The negotiators noted that it is necessary to establish prompt cooperation between the GACC of the People's Republic of China and the Rosselkhoznadzor for the rapid exchange of information in case of product incompliances of the importing country in order to deliver measures as efficiently as possible.
