Talks between Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert and Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Russia Kazem Jalali were held on June 22.
Kazem Jalali thanked Sergey Dankvert for the possibility to meet in video format and discuss the issues, related to export of dairy products from Iran to Russia.
In late February the Rosselkhoznadzor had to introduce temporary restrictions on export of dairy products from Iran through Yrag-Kazmalyar border inspection post, located at the border between Russia and Dagestan. This decision was taken by the Service, after revealing the fact that Iranian dairy products had been imported without the Rosselkhoznadzor’s permit under non-compliant temperature conditions from the establishments, not authorized to export to the EAEU countries.
Kazem Jalali informed that a great work had been done in Iran to remove and prevent violations of dairy product export to Russia. Beside the case investigation and strengthening of control measures, the meeting between Minister of Energy, Co-Chairman of Russian–Iranian Intergovernmental Commission Reza Ardakanian and representatives of large milk processing companies was arranged. During the meeting the obligation to strictly comply with the Russian requirements was stressed.
The Iranian Ambassador addressed Sergey Dankvert with a request to consider the possibility of removing the abovementioned restrictions and informed about the interest of the country in expansion of the list of establishments, authorized to export sea products to Russia.
Sergey Dankvert stressed the high level of trade and economic cooperation and confidence between Russia and Iran and informed that the Rosselkhoznadzor is in a close interaction with the Iranian Veterinary Organization and in a joint search for the way to overcome the current situation.
