On July 18-19, on the margins of the 75th Regular Meeting of
the WTO Committee on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures the Rosselkhoznadzor
representatives held talks with their counterparts from Canadian, Indian and
Chinese competent authorities.
During the bilateral meeting with the representatives of the
Canadian Food Inspection Agency the parties raised the issues regarding
harmonization of a certificate for imports of boar semen and provisional
restrictions on imports of ready-to-eat dog food. The Russian side stated that
currently it was awaiting comments from the EAEU Member States to the draft
certificate which was different from the EAEU Single Certificates and which was
elaborated in accordance with the remarks from Rosselkhoznadzor.
A bilateral meeting with the Chinese party was devoted to
the issues of poultry meat, grain and fruit crop exports from Russia to the
People’s Republic of China. The Parties also reviewed the results of the
inspection of Chinese establishments producing lysine.
The Rosselkhoznadzor representatives initiated discussions
on the ways to export poultry meat from Russia to China by train and
underscored the importance that Russian exporters attached to that way of
exports through Zabaikalsky Krai.
Within the framework of negotiations with the Indian
delegation the Parties considered exports of poultry meat and by-products, fish
and sea products, washed and unwashed sheep wool, feed of biological synthesis
and ready-to-eat meat products. The requirements for exports of the
above-mentioned products were again demanded.
