On July 18, on the sidelines of the 75th regular meeting of
the Committee on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures of the World Trade
Organization, a meeting was held between the Rosselkhoznadzor and Marcelo
Arevalo, a representative of the Department for Technical Regulation of Foreign
Trade of the Ministry of Agriculture and Tourism of Peru.
In the course of the talks, the issues of fish and sea
product supplies from Peruvian enterprises to the Russian Federation were
The representatives of the Rosselkhoznadzor pointed out the
need to fulfill the requirements of the Eurasian Economic Union for the access
of commodities to the Russian market and provided clarification with regard to
the relevant EAEU documents.
The Russian party also reminded about its interest in the inclusion
of Russian enterprises in the list of companies authorized to export animal
products to the Republic of Peru and requested to provide the Peruvian
requirements for such products.
As a result of the talks, the parties agreed to further
cooperate in animal product trade, as well as confirmed their intention to
agree on the Memorandum of Understanding between the Peruvian National Fisheries
Health Service (SANIPES) and the Rosselkhoznadzor in the shortest possible time.
