From 24 to 28 May, for the first time in history, the Annual General Session of the World Assembly of National Delegates to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) will be held in the format of a video conference. In order to speed up and simplify the procedure for making changes to existing recommendations and standards, it was decided to hold a number of preliminary events.
Preliminary consultations on amendments to the provisions of the Terrestrial Animal Health Code, the Aquatic Animal Health Code, the Manual of Diagnostic Tests and Vaccines for Terrestrial Animals, and the Manual of Diagnostic Tests and Vaccines for Aquatic Animals were held on 12, 14 and 16 April via videoconferences.
The consultations were attended by experts of the OIE Specialist Commissions, representatives of the OIE Headquarters and Regional Offices, as well as authorized representatives of the veterinary services of the organization's member countries. The Russian Federation was represented by Nikita Lebedev, Adviser to the Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor.
Administrative and financial reports on the OIE activities, as well as reports on the activities of Specialist commissions, will be presented during the sessions of the General Assembly.
In addition, during the General Session, regular elections of the OIE Director General, members of the OIE Council of Delegates, Regional Commissions and Specialist Commissions will be held.
